Chicago

Hello, there!

Hope your week is off to a lovely start! My week has been excellent so far, for a reason which I will reveal in my next post. But for now, I want to share with you a few moments from our recent trip to Chicago. We went on a long weekend trip with our good friends Scott and Anna Caroline, to visit our dear friends Matt and Katherine, who recently moved there (Matt is starting optometry school in the area). I had been to Chicago before, and LOVED it, so I was counting the days until this trip. Not to mention, we were all thrilled to get to spend some time with Matt and Katherine!

^^ Matt and Katherine were AMAZING hosts. They had the most precious rooms waiting for us to stay in, cooked delicious meals for us, and planned all kinds of fun things for us to do!

^^ On our first day, we explored downtown Naperville, IL, which is where Katherine works as a dental hygienist, and it is the cutest area ever! We picnicked in the park, and enjoyed some beautiful flowers, precious buildings, and a bit of shopping!

^^ I was freaking out as I saw white modern farmhouse after white modern farmhouse. Dreams coming true!

^^ The next day, we woke up and headed into the city! We had such a blast, and the weather couldn’t have been better. The Lincoln Park Zoo was INCREDIBLE, and totally free to the public!

^^ Thankful for friendships that last, despite distance.

It was a lovely time. So thankful to have had the chance to go! We are running a million miles an hour these days, but loving every minute of it. We are actually leaving in about an hour and a half to head to Texas! (I suppose that means I should go pack or something…)
Have a wonderful day!
